Job Description
As a Senior Logistics Coordinator at our client, a leading logistics and supply chain solutions provider, you will play a crucial role in maintaining seamless supply chain flow and ensuring customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and managing daily transportation and logistics operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Optimizing delivery routes and schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize transit times.
- Monitoring fleet performance, including vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, and driver compliance.
- Selecting and managing relationships with third-party carriers and logistics partners.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, safety standards, and documentation requirements.
- Utilizing logistics software and systems (e.g., TMS, GPS tracking) to monitor shipments and operational status.
- Handling and resolving logistical issues, delays, and customer inquiries promptly and effectively.
- Managing inventory levels related to transportation supplies and equipment.
- Developing and implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Generating regular reports on key logistics metrics, such as on-time delivery rates, costs, and carrier performance.
- Collaborating with internal teams, including warehouse operations, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless integration.
- Providing training and guidance to junior logistics staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics coordination, fleet management, or transportation management.
- Proven experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other logistics software.
- Strong understanding of domestic and international transportation regulations and best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, crucial for remote collaboration and coordination.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory compliance in the transportation industry.
