As a Senior Insurance Underwriter with our client, a leading global insurance provider, you will be responsible for evaluating large commercial accounts and underwriting complex risks across various lines of business. - *Key Responsibilities:**
- Underwrite complex commercial insurance risks, including property, casualty, specialty lines, and liability.
- Analyze detailed financial reports, loss runs, exposure data, and market intelligence to assess risk severity and potential.
- Determine appropriate coverage terms, conditions, exclusions, and pricing for new and renewal business.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and clients.
- Collaborate with internal claims, legal, and actuarial departments to ensure comprehensive risk assessment and management.
- Adhere to underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and company strategies.
- Identify opportunities for profitable growth and portfolio diversification.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging risks, and changes in legislation.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Prepare clear and concise underwriting documentation and recommendations.
- *Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting, with a focus on complex risks.
- Professional designations such as CPCU, CIC, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of various insurance lines, policy structures, and regulatory environments.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and actuarial information.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage a substantial book of business independently.
- Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments and decisions under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
