Job Description
As a Senior Industrial Engineer at our client's leading manufacturing firm, your role is crucial in driving significant improvements in manufacturing processes through the implementation of Lean principles. You will be responsible for analyzing existing workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and designing and implementing robust solutions to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall quality. Leading cross-functional teams in Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and the application of other Lean methodologies will be key aspects of your role. Your deep understanding of industrial engineering principles, statistical process control, and Lean manufacturing techniques will be instrumental in successfully transforming manufacturing operations. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with production and management teams, and champion a culture of continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
- Design, develop, and implement Lean manufacturing strategies, including value stream mapping, 5S, Kanban, and Kaizen events.
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and implement standard work procedures and best practices to optimize production workflows.
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) techniques to monitor and improve process performance.
- Design and optimize plant layouts, material flow, and workstation ergonomics.
- Develop business cases and project proposals for operational improvements.
- Train and mentor plant personnel on Lean principles and tools.
- Collaborate with R&D, quality assurance, and production management to ensure seamless integration of process improvements.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, waste reduction, and quality.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on Lean manufacturing implementation.
- Proven expertise in applying Lean methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, VSM, 5S, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is highly desirable).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
- Proficiency in process simulation software, CAD, and statistical analysis tools.
- Excellent project management and team leadership skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in manufacturing operations management or process optimization roles.
- Ability to work independently and drive change initiatives.
