Senior Geologist - Mining Operations

Our client, a leading entity in the mining sector, is actively searching for a highly skilled Senior Geologist to oversee critical geological operations at their site in **Nagpur, Maharashtra, IN**. This demanding role requires a deep understanding of geological principles and their application in mineral exploration, resource estimation, and mine planning. The Senior Geologist will be instrumental in conducting detailed geological surveys, interpreting subsurface data, and providing expert advice to optimize resource extraction while ensuring safety and environmental compliance. Key responsibilities include:

Planning and executing geological exploration programs to identify and evaluate mineral deposits. Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting geological data from drilling, mapping, and geophysical surveys. Developing and refining geological models and resource estimates using industry-standard software. Providing technical guidance on mine design, ore control, and production planning based on geological insights. Collaborating closely with mining engineers, surveyors, and other operational teams to ensure efficient and safe extraction of resources. Conducting geological risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies. Preparing comprehensive geological reports and presentations for management and stakeholders. Ensuring adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the mining site. Mentoring and supervising junior geological staff and technicians. Staying abreast of the latest advancements in geological techniques and technologies relevant to the mining industry. Qualifications:

Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field. Minimum of 8-10 years of hands-on experience in exploration geology, resource geology, or mine geology, preferably within metallic or non-metallic mining. Demonstrated expertise in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, MinePlan, Datamine). Strong knowledge of geochemical and geophysical exploration methods. Proven ability to interpret complex geological datasets and generate actionable insights. Excellent report writing and presentation skills. Experience with GIS software is highly desirable. Strong understanding of mining operations and relevant safety protocols. Ability to work effectively in remote and challenging field conditions. Leadership qualities and experience in team supervision.
