Our client, a premier financial advisory firm, is seeking a highly skilled and ethical Senior Forensic Accountant to join their team on a fully remote basis. This pivotal role involves investigating financial irregularities, detecting fraud, and providing expert witness testimony in legal proceedings. The ideal candidate will possess a meticulous attention to detail, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and proven experience in forensic accounting methodologies. Responsibilities: Conduct in-depth financial investigations to detect and prevent fraud, embezzlement, and other financial misconduct. Analyze complex financial data, accounting records, and electronic evidence to identify patterns and anomalies. Prepare detailed forensic accounting reports, findings, and recommendations for clients and legal counsel. Assist in the quantification of financial losses and damages in litigation and dispute resolution matters. Provide expert witness testimony in court proceedings, depositions, and arbitration hearings. Collaborate with legal teams, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders during investigations. Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and prevent fraud. Perform due diligence investigations for mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions. Utilize specialized forensic accounting software and data analysis tools. Stay abreast of evolving fraud schemes, accounting standards, and relevant legal frameworks. Conduct training sessions for clients on fraud prevention and detection techniques. Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical standards throughout all investigative processes. Manage multiple complex investigations simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Develop and refine forensic accounting methodologies and best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA/CA certification is highly desirable. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a specialization in forensic accounting, fraud examination, or auditing. Proven experience in conducting financial investigations, analyzing financial statements, and identifying red flags. In-depth knowledge of fraud schemes, investigative techniques, and legal procedures. Proficiency in forensic accounting software and data analytics tools (e.g., IDEA, Relativity, ACL). Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly and concisely. Experience providing expert witness testimony is a significant advantage. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet strict deadlines in a remote setting. High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion. CFF (Certified in Financial Forensics) or CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) certification is a strong plus.
