Our client, a pioneering force in the automotive industry, is seeking an accomplished Senior Automotive Systems Engineer to join their advanced research and development facility in Washington, D.C., US . This role is integral to designing, developing, and integrating complex vehicle systems, driving innovation in automotive technology. You will lead projects focused on areas such as powertrain control, vehicle dynamics, ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), or connectivity. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical understanding of automotive systems, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and proven experience in systems engineering methodologies. This position requires hands-on work within a collaborative R&D environment, contributing to the next generation of automotive solutions. Key Responsibilities: Define system requirements, architecture, and specifications for automotive systems. Lead the design, development, and integration of complex automotive subsystems. Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle, tools (e.g., DOORS, Cameo), and methodologies. Experience with modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink). Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively. Experience with functional safety standards (ISO 26262) is a plus.
