Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automation & Robotics Technician to join their industrial operations team in Chandigarh, Chandigarh, IN . This role is essential for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated systems and robotic equipment to ensure optimal efficiency and minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical, mechanical, and software aspects of automation systems.

Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain automated machinery and robotic systems. Perform routine diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on complex electro-mechanical equipment. Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems, HMI (Human-Machine Interface), and robotic controllers. Conduct preventative maintenance on all automated equipment to ensure reliability and longevity. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications. Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to implement system upgrades and modifications. Program and calibrate robotic arms and automated production lines. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures related to automation and robotics. Train junior technicians on the operation and maintenance of automated systems. Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inventory of spare parts. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in automation and robotics technology. Assist in the commissioning of new automated equipment and production lines. Respond to urgent repair requests to minimize production interruptions. Optimize robotic paths and automation sequences for maximum throughput and quality. Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with industrial automation systems and robotics. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMIs, and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives). Experience with industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) including programming and maintenance. Strong understanding of electrical systems, pneumatic, and hydraulic principles. Ability to read and understand complex electrical and mechanical schematics. Knowledge of sensor technologies and their integration into automated systems. Familiarity with programming languages used in automation (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text). Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to diagnostics. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Willingness to work in shifts and respond to emergency calls as needed. This is a critical role for ensuring the smooth operation of our advanced manufacturing processes.
