Our client, a global leader in resource extraction, is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Operations Engineer to join their fully remote team. This pivotal role involves providing expert technical guidance and strategic oversight for mine planning, production optimization, and operational efficiency across various mining projects worldwide. You will leverage cutting-edge technology and your extensive mining expertise to enhance safety, productivity, and sustainability, all while working from your preferred remote location. This position requires a deep understanding of mining engineering principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with on-site teams and stakeholders from a distance.

Responsibilities

Provide expert technical advice on mine planning, design, and operations, including open-pit and underground methodologies. Develop and implement strategies to optimize production, minimize costs, and maximize resource recovery. Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, safety, and environmental performance. Oversee the selection, implementation, and utilization of mining equipment and technologies. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Collaborate closely with on-site engineering and operational teams to provide guidance and support. Conduct feasibility studies and economic assessments for new mining projects or expansions. Develop and manage mine production schedules and plans. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and innovations to enhance mining operations. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of technical expertise within the organization. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in mining operations engineering, with a strong focus on mine planning and production. Proven expertise in open-pit and/or underground mining methods. Proficiency with mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac) and simulation tools. Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering, rock mechanics, and mine ventilation. Experience with mine safety regulations and best practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams remotely. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver results in a challenging environment. Experience in geology, surveying, and materials handling is beneficial. Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
