Remote Principal Chemical Engineer

Our client, a global leader in advanced materials and sustainable chemical processes, is looking for a highly experienced and innovative Remote Principal Chemical Engineer to join their cutting-edge research and development division. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the US, and requires a deep technical expertise in process design, optimization, and scale-up. You will be instrumental in developing novel chemical pathways, improving existing manufacturing processes, and ensuring compliance with stringent environmental and safety regulations. Responsibilities include leading complex engineering projects from conception through to implementation, mentoring junior engineers, conducting rigorous technical analysis and feasibility studies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including R&D scientists, operations managers, and external partners. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background, with a Ph.D. or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, and a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the chemical industry, with a focus on process development and industrial applications. Proven experience in simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and a thorough understanding of reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and mass transfer are essential. Excellent problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously are key requirements. This role demands exceptional communication skills, as you will be presenting findings and proposals to stakeholders and leadership.
