Job Description

Our client is looking for a visionary and hands-on Engineering Lead to spearhead their cloud infrastructure initiatives. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within Canada. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure cloud environments. This role demands a deep understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and site reliability engineering principles.

As the Engineering Lead, you will guide a talented team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for setting technical direction, mentoring team members, and ensuring the team adheres to best practices in performance, security, and cost optimization. Your expertise will be crucial in architecting solutions for high availability and disaster recovery, managing cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and automating infrastructure deployments and management processes.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading engineering teams and architecting complex cloud solutions. Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Python, Go) and scripting is essential. A strong background in containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, as well as experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK Stack), is required. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile development environment and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for a remote team. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in cloud engineering and DevOps, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact on a growing company's technological foundation, working entirely remotely.
