Our client is seeking a motivated and skilled Remote Field Service Technician to join their growing team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within Canada. The role involves providing expert technical support and hands-on maintenance for a range of specialized industrial equipment. You will be the primary point of contact for clients experiencing technical issues, diagnosing problems remotely through advanced diagnostic tools and virtual communication, and coordinating on-site repair efforts when necessary. This position requires a deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software systems, coupled with exceptional problem-solving abilities.
Primary responsibilities include:
Providing remote technical assistance and troubleshooting for complex machinery via phone, video conferencing, and remote access software. Diagnosing hardware, software, and network issues related to industrial equipment. Guiding customers through troubleshooting procedures and performing remote adjustments and configurations. Collaborating with in-house engineering teams to identify root causes of recurring technical problems and suggest product improvements. Scheduling and coordinating on-site service calls with local technicians when remote resolution is not feasible. Maintaining detailed service logs, documenting all troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and parts used. Ensuring client satisfaction by delivering timely and effective technical support. Staying up-to-date with product updates, new technologies, and service procedures through continuous training. Contributing to the development of technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and troubleshooting guides. Managing inventory of spare parts and tools for dispatched technicians.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field, with at least 3-5 years of experience in a similar technical support or field service role. Proficiency with diagnostic software and remote access tools is essential. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for effectively interacting with clients and internal teams. The ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals is required. Candidates must be highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently in a remote setting. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service are key.
