Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing and industrial solutions, is seeking a highly experienced Principal Industrial Engineer to join their innovative team in **Indore, Madhya Pradesh**. This senior role is responsible for optimizing complex industrial processes, improving operational efficiency, and driving significant cost reductions through the application of advanced engineering principles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, process simulation, and supply chain optimization. You will lead major projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the strategic direction of our client's operational excellence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, analysis, and improvement of industrial processes, systems, and facilities to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Develop and implement lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement tools. Conduct detailed studies on production workflow, equipment utilization, and material handling to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Utilize process simulation software to model and optimize system performance before implementation. Design and implement factory layouts, workstations, and material flow strategies. Develop and manage project plans for significant operational improvement initiatives, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence. Train and mentor junior engineers and operational staff on process improvement techniques and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality, and supply chain, to implement changes and drive adoption. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor operational performance, providing regular reports and recommendations. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in industrial engineering, automation, and manufacturing technologies. Contribute to strategic planning for operational upgrades and capital investments.
Qualifications
Master's or Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a focus on process optimization and operational efficiency in manufacturing environments. Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt certification preferred), and other continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic) and CAD tools. Strong understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and operations research. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Proven track record of leading complex projects and achieving measurable results. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience in mentoring and developing engineering teams. Knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies is a plus.
