Job Description
As a Network Security Engineer at our client's leading telecommunications company in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, IN, your primary focus will be on protecting the vast network infrastructure from evolving cyber threats. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security solutions to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of network assets. Your proactive approach to threat detection, incident response, and security policy enforcement will be essential for the success of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage network security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDPS), VPNs, and web application firewalls (WAF).
- Monitor network traffic for security breaches and anomalous activity using advanced security tools and SIEM systems.
- Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard network assets.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
- Respond to security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and lead remediation efforts.
- Collaborate with network operations teams to ensure secure network configurations and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
- Provide technical guidance and support on security-related matters to internal teams.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including network diagrams and incident response plans.
- Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical security incidents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network security engineering, preferably within the telecommunications industry.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, and common network architectures.
- Hands-on experience with various security technologies: firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM (Splunk, QRadar), and WAFs.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation is a plus.
- Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCNA Security, or CCNP Security are highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
