Job Description

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer to join their fully remote, cutting-edge telecommunications team. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable network infrastructure that powers our client's services. You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of their network systems, working from anywhere in Canada. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of networking protocols, hardware, and software, coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage complex network architectures, including LAN, WAN, and cloud environments. Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers from various vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista). Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and minimal latency. Implement and manage network security measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities. Develop and execute network upgrade and maintenance plans. Collaborate with development and operations teams to support application deployments and infrastructure needs. Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures. Participate in on-call rotation to provide emergency network support. Research and evaluate new network technologies and solutions to improve efficiency and capabilities. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for network design and operation. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered. Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on infrastructure design and management. In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, VPNs, and other networking protocols. Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds). Experience with cloud networking concepts (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure VNet). Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for network automation is highly desirable. Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, or similar are a significant asset. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
