Job Description

Our client is actively seeking a highly accomplished Lead Manufacturing Systems Engineer to spearhead advancements in their production facilities located in Mississauga, Ontario, CA . This critical role involves the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of integrated manufacturing systems, encompassing automation, robotics, and sophisticated control technologies. You will be responsible for analyzing complex production challenges, developing strategic roadmaps for system upgrades, and leading teams of engineers and technicians to execute these plans. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of industrial automation, software integration, data acquisition, and performance monitoring within a high-volume manufacturing environment. Your leadership will be key in driving efficiency, enhancing product quality, and ensuring the seamless operation of all manufacturing lines. This is a hands-on leadership position with significant impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced manufacturing systems and automation solutions. Oversee the integration of various manufacturing technologies, including robotics, PLCs, SCADA systems, and MES. Develop and execute strategic plans for system upgrades and enhancements to meet production targets and quality standards. Conduct feasibility studies and provide technical expertise on new automation technologies. Manage and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Analyze production data to identify areas for optimization, performance bottlenecks, and cost-saving opportunities. Develop and maintain system documentation, including P&IDs, electrical schematics, and software configurations. Ensure robust system validation and commissioning processes are followed. Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and R&D departments to ensure operational excellence. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in automation and manufacturing. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively for all assigned system engineering projects. Ensure all implemented systems comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations. Troubleshoot complex system failures and implement effective root cause analysis and corrective actions. Qualifications:

Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing systems engineering and automation. Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex projects. Extensive knowledge of PLC programming, HMI development, SCADA systems, and industrial networks. Strong expertise in robotics (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) and their integration. Proficiency in data analysis, MES, and manufacturing execution systems. Excellent understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience in the automotive or aerospace industry is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding manufacturing environment.
