As an experienced and highly motivated Lead Legal Counsel, you will join a dynamic legal team operating on a fully remote basis. Your role will involve advising on a wide range of legal matters, managing complex transactions, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Your background in corporate law, contract negotiation, and litigation management will be crucial in providing strategic legal guidance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert legal advice and counsel to senior management and various business units on strategic initiatives, operational matters, and risk management.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and service level agreements.
  • Overseeing and managing litigation, arbitration, and other dispute resolution processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including data privacy and intellectual property.
  • Developing and implementing internal policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis on complex legal issues.
  • Collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders and external counsel to achieve optimal legal outcomes.
  • Managing and mentoring junior legal staff if applicable.
  • Staying abreast of legal developments and trends affecting the company's industry.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the legal department's operations and efficiency.

Qualifications required:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in good standing.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with a combination of law firm and in-house experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in corporate governance, M&A, and employment law is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a diverse workload, and meet tight deadlines in a remote setting.
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
