Our client, a leader in innovative manufacturing solutions within the Industrial Engineering domain, is seeking an accomplished Lead Industrial Automation Engineer for a fully remote position. This role is integral to designing, implementing, and optimizing automated systems that drive efficiency and productivity in manufacturing environments. You will lead projects from conception through completion, overseeing the integration of robotics, PLCs, SCADA systems, and other automation technologies. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in industrial automation, a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, and exceptional leadership capabilities. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of automated manufacturing systems, including specifying hardware and software components. Oversee the integration of PLCs, robotics, HMI/SCADA systems, and other automation technologies. Develop and implement control strategies and programming for automated equipment. Conduct feasibility studies and P&ID development for new automation projects. Manage automation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to specified requirements. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior automation engineers and technicians. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and production personnel. Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues in production environments. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for automation systems, including design specifications, logic, and operating procedures. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in industrial automation technologies and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in industrial automation engineering. Proven experience in leading complex automation projects in manufacturing settings. Expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI/SCADA development, and robotic systems integration (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, industrial networks, and control system architecture. Excellent leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design and schematics. Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
