Our client is looking for a dedicated Lead Cybersecurity Analyst to enhance their security posture in Washington, D.C., US . This pivotal role involves safeguarding sensitive information systems and critical infrastructure from evolving cyber threats. You will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and managing robust security protocols, incident response plans, and vulnerability assessment strategies. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in threat detection, analysis, and mitigation, alongside a deep understanding of network security, encryption, and secure coding practices.
Responsibilities include leading a team of security professionals, conducting regular security audits and penetration tests, and staying current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies. You will also be responsible for creating and delivering security awareness training to staff, developing security policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., NIST, GDPR, HIPAA). The Lead Cybersecurity Analyst will play a key role in risk management, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and recommending and implementing appropriate security measures to minimize risk. This position requires exceptional analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to respond effectively to security incidents under pressure. Collaboration with IT departments and senior management to align security initiatives with business objectives is also a crucial aspect of this role.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are highly desirable. A minimum of 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Proven expertise in security frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and incident response procedures. Strong knowledge of network security principles, firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM tools, and endpoint security solutions. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
