Key Responsibilities: Design and oversee field trials for new crop varieties, fertilizers, and sustainable farming techniques. Analyze soil and crop data to provide recommendations for optimal planting, irrigation, fertilization, and pest management strategies. Develop and implement integrated pest management (IPM) programs to minimize chemical usage and promote biodiversity. Conduct research on soil health improvement, water conservation, and nutrient management. Provide technical guidance and training to farmers on adopting sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices. Collaborate with research institutions and government agencies on agricultural projects and policy development. Prepare detailed reports, scientific publications, and presentations on research findings. Manage budgets and resources for agronomic research and development projects. Stay updated with the latest advancements in agricultural science, technology, and policy.
Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Science, or a related agricultural field. Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in agronomy research, farm management, or agricultural extension. Proven experience in designing and managing field experiments. Strong knowledge of statistical analysis software and data interpretation. Excellent understanding of sustainable agriculture principles, organic farming, and IPM. Demonstrated leadership and team management skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with farmers and stakeholders. Proficiency in relevant agricultural technologies and software. A commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable food production.
