Lead Agronomist - Sustainable Farming Practices

This pivotal role involves spearheading research, development, and implementation of cutting-edge agronomic practices aimed at enhancing crop yield, soil health, and environmental sustainability. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of agricultural science, crop physiology, soil management, and pest control, coupled with a passion for innovation and ecological stewardship. You will lead a team of agricultural scientists and field technicians, guiding them in the execution of experimental trials, data analysis, and the dissemination of best practices to farming communities.

Key Responsibilities: Design and oversee field trials for new crop varieties, fertilizers, and sustainable farming techniques. Analyze soil and crop data to provide recommendations for optimal planting, irrigation, fertilization, and pest management strategies. Develop and implement integrated pest management (IPM) programs to minimize chemical usage and promote biodiversity. Conduct research on soil health improvement, water conservation, and nutrient management. Provide technical guidance and training to farmers on adopting sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices. Collaborate with research institutions and government agencies on agricultural projects and policy development. Prepare detailed reports, scientific publications, and presentations on research findings. Manage budgets and resources for agronomic research and development projects. Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Science, or a related agricultural field. Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in agronomy research, farm management, or agricultural extension. Proven experience in designing and managing field experiments. Strong knowledge of statistical analysis software and data interpretation. Excellent understanding of sustainable agriculture principles, organic farming, and IPM. Demonstrated leadership and team management skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with farmers and stakeholders.
