Lead Agronomist - Sustainable Farming

Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Agronomist to drive advancements in sustainable farming practices and crop management at their research and development facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, IN . This role is critical for enhancing crop yields, optimizing resource utilization, and promoting environmentally sound agricultural techniques. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of soil science, plant physiology, pest management, and advanced agricultural technologies. You will be responsible for designing and conducting field trials, analyzing experimental data, developing crop management plans, and providing expert advice to farming communities and internal teams. The successful candidate will possess strong research skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to agricultural innovation and sustainability. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement innovative agronomic strategies to improve crop yields, quality, and resilience. Design, execute, and analyze field trials for new crop varieties, fertilizers, and crop protection products. Provide expert guidance on soil health management, nutrient application, and irrigation techniques. Develop integrated pest and disease management strategies. Utilize data analytics and precision agriculture technologies to optimize farming operations. Conduct research on the impact of climate change on agricultural production and develop adaptation strategies. Educate and train farmers and agricultural professionals on best practices in sustainable farming. Collaborate with research institutions, government agencies, and industry partners to advance agricultural knowledge. Prepare technical reports, research papers, and presentations on agronomic findings. Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies in agriculture and forestry. Qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Plant Science, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in agronomy, crop science, or agricultural research. Proven experience in designing and managing field trials and experiments. In-depth knowledge of soil science, plant physiology, pest management, and crop nutrition. Experience with precision agriculture techniques and data analysis software. Strong research methodology and statistical analysis skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex scientific information effectively. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with sustainable agricultural practices and organic farming principles is a plus. Experience in forestry or related land management disciplines is beneficial.
