Geological Engineer - Mining Operations

Our client, a prominent player in the mining industry, is seeking a highly skilled Geological Engineer to join their operations team in Nagpur, Maharashtra, IN . You will be responsible for analyzing geological data, planning mine layouts, and overseeing excavation processes to maximize resource extraction while adhering to strict safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities:

Conduct geological surveys and analyze subsurface data to identify mineral deposits and estimate reserves. Develop and implement mine planning and design, including open-pit or underground layouts. Oversee drilling programs and collect rock and soil samples for analysis. Determine the most effective and safe methods for extracting minerals. Monitor ground stability, rock mechanics, and potential geological hazards. Collaborate with mining engineers and geologists to optimize extraction strategies. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations in mining operations. Prepare technical reports, maps, and geological models. Advise on the selection of appropriate mining equipment and technologies. Assist in the development and management of mine closure and rehabilitation plans. Perform feasibility studies for new mining projects. Supervise site investigations and data collection efforts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a closely related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in geological engineering, with a strong focus on mining operations. Proven expertise in rock mechanics, geostatistics, and mine design software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Surpac). Solid understanding of various mining methods and equipment. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail. Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations pertinent to the mining industry. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and site personnel. Ability to work effectively in challenging field conditions.
