Field Installation & Maintenance Technician

Our client, a leading provider of industrial automation solutions, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Field Installation & Maintenance Technician. This hands-on role is based in and around Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, IN , requiring travel to customer sites to perform installations, maintenance, and repair of complex machinery and systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality service. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of our client's equipment, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and commission new industrial equipment and systems at customer locations. Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment reliability. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in machinery. Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers. Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide installation and repair activities. Conduct performance tests and quality checks after installation or repair. Maintain accurate records of all service calls, including work performed, parts used, and time spent. Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures during site visits. Respond to emergency service requests and work flexible hours as needed. Communicate effectively with customers, providing updates and technical explanations.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service, installation, or maintenance of industrial machinery. Strong proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems troubleshooting. Ability to read and understand technical diagrams and blueprints. Experience with diagnostic tools and testing equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients. Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory and work flexible hours. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environmental conditions.
