Our client is seeking a creative and highly organized Event Production Manager to join their vibrant Arts & Entertainment division in Richmond, Virginia, US . This role is central to the successful planning, execution, and management of a wide range of events, from intimate performances to large-scale festivals and corporate functions. The Event Production Manager will oversee all logistical aspects of event production, including venue selection, vendor management, technical production (sound, lighting, staging), staffing, and on-site coordination. You will work closely with artists, performers, stakeholders, and internal teams to bring creative visions to life, ensuring seamless delivery and exceptional audience experiences. Key responsibilities include developing detailed event plans, budgets, and timelines; sourcing and negotiating with suppliers and contractors; and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, permits, and insurance requirements. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in event management, with a strong understanding of the technical aspects of production. Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and exceptional communication and leadership abilities are essential. You will manage event staff and volunteers, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure smooth operations on event days. This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility, often involving irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate event schedules. You will be instrumental in curating and delivering memorable experiences within the Richmond, Virginia, US arts and entertainment scene.
Responsibilities
Plan, budget, and execute all aspects of event production. Manage vendor relationships, including contracts and negotiations. Oversee technical production elements: AV, lighting, staging, etc. Ensure event safety, security, and compliance with all regulations. Develop detailed event timelines and logistical plans. Coordinate on-site event operations and manage staff/volunteers. Liaise with artists, performers, clients, and stakeholders. Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during events. Conduct post-event evaluations and reporting. Contribute to the creative development of event concepts.
