Agricultural Equipment Technician

Our client, a leading provider of agricultural machinery and services, is looking for a skilled Agricultural Equipment Technician to join their busy service center in **Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US**. This is a hands-on, on-site role crucial for ensuring the optimal performance of advanced farming equipment.

The Agricultural Equipment Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of agricultural machinery, including tractors, combines, planters, and sprayers. You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, and ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently. This role requires the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes. You will also be responsible for documenting all work performed, managing parts inventory, and providing excellent customer service to farmers and agricultural businesses.

We are seeking candidates with a strong mechanical aptitude and a proven track record in equipment repair. A degree or certificate from a technical school in agricultural mechanics, diesel technology, or a related field is highly preferred. Several years of experience working with agricultural equipment is essential. You must possess excellent diagnostic skills, proficiency with hand and power tools, and familiarity with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team are required. Good communication skills are important for interacting with clients and colleagues. The ability to work in various weather conditions and occasional overtime during peak seasons is expected. Responsibilities: Diagnose, repair, and maintain agricultural machinery (tractors, combines, harvesters, etc.). Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues. Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins. Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve problems. Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain a clean and organized workshop. Manage parts inventory and order necessary components. Provide technical support and advice to customers. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree in Agricultural Mechanics, Diesel Technology, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of experience as an Agricultural Equipment Technician or similar role. Strong knowledge of agricultural machinery systems (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, diesel). Proficiency with diagnostic tools and specialized repair equipment. Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Good communication and customer service skills. Physical ability to lift heavy components and work in various conditions.
