Salary Grade: 13
The base salary will be $62,480 - $89,040 per annum. Starting salary will be aligned with the successful candidate’s experience, skills, and demonstrated qualifications.

The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry is the largest Faculty on the Western University campus and employs over 2,000 part-time and full-time faculty and over 1,500 staff.
Responsibilities
The Technology Support Specialist is responsible for providing first level support to the users of the Elentra learning management system. This system is used by all medical and dental undergraduate students as well as medical and dental residents and clinical fellows. This role also supports the administrative staff and faculty throughout Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry in their use of Elentra. The role will work closely with the IT Specialists within the medical and dental program offices to support the technology necessary for maintenance and development of the Elentra system. The Technology Support Specialist will work closely with Schulich Information Services to support the testing of software and will collaborate to ensure appropriate procedures are implemented, and support the preparation and distribution of any related training documentation.
Qualifications
Education
- 3 year Community College diploma in an information technology field or a University degree with a minor in an information technology field
Experience
- 2 years of current computer support experience including working with a variety of application software, database software and platforms
- Relevant work experience providing IT project implementation support, including data management, analysis and reporting
- Preferred:
- Experience working within a complex healthcare education environment
- Previous experience providing training, support and guidance on database software and platforms
- Previous experience in administering web-based assessment/evaluation systems
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Medical and Dental Education Programs would be an asset
- Demonstrated project management and change management experience with large-scale IT projects
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office for development and posting of training videos
- Knowledge of the Elentra Learning Management Systems is preferred or other Learning Management Systems
- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development with an ability and willingness to stay abreast of technological developments
- Ability to prepare and make presentations to colleagues and clients
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
- Ability to take initiative and work both independently or collaboratively with academic personnel and administrative staff and physicians
- Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy
- Creative problem-solving skills and sound professional judgment
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage activities effectively
- Ability to work well under pressure and use sound judgment in assessing projects
- Exceptional planning and organization skills with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to growth and change
- Ability to manage multiple activities from conception to completion within prescribed timelines
- Knowledge of Western’s and Schulich’s policies and procedures would be an asset
