Lead Analyst, AML Licensing Compliance – Denver (Hybrid)

Western Union is seeking a detail-oriented Lead Analyst to manage U.S. money transmitter licensing requirements. This compliance role involves renewals, filings, preparing and tracking license applications, and ensuring regulatory adherence.

The Lead Analyst, AML Compliance plays a critical role in supporting Western Union’s regulatory compliance obligations across the United States, and federal and state regulatory jurisdictions as required. This position serves as a subject matter expert on United States licensing and AML requirements applicable to Money Services Businesses (MSBs), including federal and state regulatory frameworks governing money transmission, and related financial services activities.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Western Union will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. Applicants must be based in Denver or willing to relocate to Denver to work from the Denver office a minimum of three days a week. Western Union will not assist with relocation costs for this position.

Role Responsibilities  

  • Manage end‑to‑end licensing and registration activities within the United States, including regulatory filings, reporting, and ongoing engagement with United States regulators.
  • Work closely with internal Compliance, Legal, and business stakeholders, the Lead Analyst ensures that licensing obligations are consistently applied to Western Union’s products and operations across jurisdictions. 
  • Support regulatory readiness and ongoing compliance by maintaining robust documentation, ensuring timely and accurate filings, and serving as a key point of contact for regulatory authorities.
  • Prepare, submit, and track money transmitter license applications, renewals, and related filings for U.S. jurisdictions.
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal licensing requirements, deadlines, and reporting obligations.
  • Maintain thorough and organized records of all licensing activities, including supporting documentation and correspondence.
  • Work closely with Legal, Compliance, and Business teams to gather required information and resolve licensing issues.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline licensing processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Generate and analyze data in Excel to support compliance reporting and audits.

Role Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Compliance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years in licensing, regulatory compliance, or financial services.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
  • Experience with money transmitter licensing or financial regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, compliance management systems and workflow tools preferred.
  • Experience with NMLS preferred.
  • CAMS/CFCS certification preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate and/or legal research experience preferred.
  • Fluency in second language preferred.
  • Strong time management, documentation and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Salary

The base salary range is $90,000.00 - 100,000.00 USD per year, total on target compensation includes a base salary plus annual incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
