Software Engineer in Test II

Wenco has R&D offices located in Canada and Australia, and this specific role is based in Richmond, B.C. at Wenco's headquarters.

We are currently looking for a full-time Software Developer in Test to help enhance quality and accelerate the development of our flagship Fleet Management System. Reporting to the Software Development Manager, the Software Developer in Test will work as a member of an Agile software development team and will lead our efforts to enhance the quality of our products through automated testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to writing and reviewing test plans for new features
• Lead the design and implementation of automated test suites
• Document and share knowledge about automation best practices, methods and tools
• Contribute to maintaining and improving test automation infrastructure
• Help sustain our culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence
• Participate in key technical initiatives to enhance team productivity and improve quality

Qualifications & Skills

• A minimum of 2 years of work experience as a Software Developer in Test or equivalent role
• Proficient in implementing automated tests with Python
• Experience designing automated test suites for both back-end and front-end applications
• Familiarity with behavior-driven development and BDD test frameworks
• Experience with test management or defect tracking tools
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Experience using Kanban or Scrum methodologies

Nice to Have

• Manual testing experience in a Test Analyst, QA, or equivalent role
• Experience with C# and/or C++
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS
• Knowledge of the mining industry or related sectors

Education & Eligibility

• Bachelor's degree in computing science or engineering
• Eligible to work in Canada

Base salary of $100,000 - $120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
