Role: Java Production Support with Devops

Location: McLean, VA

Experience :5+

Required Skills

3+ years of hands-on experience in production support for web applications.

Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.

Manage and orchestrate workflows using Control-M, including scheduling, monitoring, and error handling.

Solid experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).

Expertise in Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline automation.

Good understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.

Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, specifically MongoDB.

Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Elasticsearch Service, Kibana dashboards).

Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.

Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Participate in on-call rotations and respond to critical production alerts as needed.

Responsibilities

Provide ongoing production support for web applications, ensuring timely resolution of incidents, service interruptions, and user-reported issues.

Perform root cause analysis on production problems and implement permanent solutions to prevent recurrence.

Monitor and maintain microservices-based applications built with Java, ensuring stability and performance in the production environment.

Support and optimize deployed solutions on AWS cloud infrastructure, addressing any operational issues.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in build, test, and deployment processes automated with Jenkins and CI/CD tools.

Continuously monitor application health, performance, and security using industry-standard tools and best practices; proactively identify and address anomalies.

Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to coordinate incident response, release activities, and post-release validation in production.

Participate in post-incident reviews and contribute to process improvements for enhanced production reliability.

Prepare, update, and maintain technical documentation related to production support procedures, incident management, and troubleshooting guides.
