Overview
VTG is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support our customer in College Park, MD. This is a hybrid role.
What will you do?
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that meet compliance and security policies
- Implement and enforce GitLab Compliance Frameworks and Pipeline Execution Policies
- Integrate and manage SonarQube, JFrog Artifactory, and Argo CD within automated workflows
- Manage Linux systems & Runner infrastructure, ensuring high availability and resource optimization
- Develop / maintain comprehensive documentation in Confluence and GitLab
- Collaborate with security, development, and operations teams to embed security scans and compliance checks early in the pipeline

Basic Qualifications
- Must have 5+ years of experience
- GitLab Compliance & Pipeline Policy Expertise – deep experience configuring GitLab Compliance Frameworks, merge‑request approval rules, and pipeline execution policies
- Toolchain Integration – proven ability to wire SonarQube, JFrog Artifactory, and Argo CD into end‑to‑end pipelines with automated promotion and rollback
- Linux Systems & Runner Management – strong command‑line skills, shell scripting (bash/PowerShell), and maintenance of self‑hosted GitLab runners on Linux
- Documentation & Audit Readiness – fluency with Confluence, GitLab Wiki, and generating audit‑ready artefacts for compliance reviews
- Tools proficiency: Azure cloud, Gitalb framework, VSC, Linux Systems, JFrog, SonarQube, Argo CD. Jira, Confluence
- Must have and maintain a Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in IaC tools (Terraform, ARM templates) and Azure services (AKS, App Service, Key Vault)
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of security frameworks (CIS Benchmarks, NIST, OWASP) and SAST/DAST tooling
- Strong scripting in Python or PowerShell for automation beyond CI/CD pipelines
Pay Range: VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $90,000-$120,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range
