Job description

Voyager is an innovative defense, national security and space technology company committed to advancing and delivering transformative, mission-critical solutions. We tackle the most complex challenges to unlock new frontiers for human progress, fortify national security, and protect critical assets to lead in the race for technological and operational superiority from ground to space.

Forge the Future: Join Voyager Technologies

The future belongs to those who build it. At Voyager Technologies, we’re building technologies that protect lives, expand frontiers and prepare us for what’s next. And we’re doing that with people who are wired to solve, build, adapt and lead. These roles are not for the faint of heart.

You’ll help lay the foundation for humanity's future. Join a culture where innovation thrives, curiosity is rewarded, and impact is real. We’re a company of doers, thinkers and builders, united by purpose and grounded in reality.

If you want to put your skills to work where the stakes are real and the mission is bigger than any one person, forge the future with Voyager.

The Special Projects Manager, Office of the CEO reports to the Chief of Staff and drives CEO-priority projects that are too important to be left to normal staff processes but not yet mature enough to belong cleanly to one business unit.

The role is especially valuable across Voyager's focus areas: defense and space, new partnerships, government strategy, technology roadmaps, capital markets, M&A, and customer positioning. The ideal candidate is analytical, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating in ambiguity — capable of building a clear decision memo or a compelling strategic deck, and equally capable of getting a stalled initiative moving. It is focused on project execution and opportunity development rather than executive operations.

Essential Functions

  • Lead and manage high-priority strategic initiatives directly for the Chief of Staff. Examples include:

Business Growth & Opportunity Development

Identify, shape, and build the case for new business opportunities:

  • Proactively scan the market for growth opportunities aligned with Voyager's defense and space strategy
  • Qualify and prioritize leads across new programs, partnerships, and adjacent markets
  • Build business cases and financial models to support CEO and board-level investment decisions
  • Coordinate across finance, strategy, business development, legal, communications, and operations to advance opportunities
  • Track and synthesize market signals, competitive dynamics, and customer intelligence relevant to Voyager's growth agenda

Financial Analysis & Decision Support

Serve as an analytical engine for the CEO's office:

  • Build and maintain financial models for strategic initiatives, market sizing, and business cases
  • Prepare investment memos, scenario analyses, and return frameworks for CEO and board review
  • Synthesize complex financial, operational, and market data into crisp executive-level recommendations
  • Support capital markets activities, including preparation of materials for investors and financing discussions
  • Track financial performance of special projects and surface early indicators of risk or opportunity

Enterprise Problem Solving

  • Jump into stalled initiatives, clarify ownership, and build execution plans
  • Translate CEO priorities into cross-functional action while building trust and preserving working relationships across the organization
  • Help teams get unstuck — diagnose root cause and propose a clear path forward
  • Represent the Office of the CEO in cross-functional forums with credibility and discretion

If your experience aligns with our basic qualifications and you are inspired by our mission, we’d like to connect. If you don’t see the right role right now, Join Our Talent Community and stay connected as we continue to build what’s next.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
  • 7-10+ years of experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, corporate development, private equity, or a high-growth defense or technology company
  • Demonstrated financial modeling proficiency — able to build and audit complex Excel-based models independently
  • Strong analytical writing skills — able to translate quantitative analysis into clear executive recommendations
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects from initiation to completion
  • US Person status required (access to export-controlled information and facilities)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • CFA candidate or charterholder — or equivalent demonstrated investment analysis experience

Travel, Physical and/or Government Requirements:

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. person, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

The good faith annual base salary range is $135,000-$165,000 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
