Job Summary

The Senior Software Engineer (Production Support) will lead advanced production support activities for enterprise applications, including incident response, root-cause analysis, hotfix deployment, and operational improvements. This position requires deep experience supporting mission-critical systems in DoD environments, ensuring system availability, security compliance, and continuous service delivery. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in configuration management within DoD environments, along with hands-on experience in logistics data standards and EDI implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Tier 3 production support for enterprise and mission-critical applications
• Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and service restoration for high-severity outages
• Debug complex system issues across application, infrastructure, and integration layers
• Deploy emergency patches and hotfixes to restore operational capability
• Support 24×7 production operations and on-call rotations as required
• Manage and improve Agile/DevSecOps pipelines for production support workflows
• Develop automation using Power Automate (Power Platform) to streamline support processes
• Monitor application health using tools such as Splunk and AppDynamics
• Ensure patch compliance and implement STIG requirements for secure operations
• Integrate production support processes with ServiceNow ITSM
• Document root cause analyses and preventive action plans

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical discipline
• Certifications required: ITIL v4 Foundation
• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• 5+ years supporting production enterprise applications in DoD environments
• Experience with incident response and debugging mission-critical systems
• Experience deploying hotfixes and supporting 24×7 production operations
• Agile and DevSecOps pipeline management
• Microsoft Power Automate / Power Platform development
• Application monitoring (Splunk, AppDynamics)
• Patch management and STIG compliance
• ServiceNow ITSM integration

Preferred certifications:

• CompTIA Security+
• Advanced troubleshooting certifications
