Only Full Time: Software Engineer in Test

Role: SDET

Location : Mclean, VA Hybrid (5 days a week from office is must)

Duration: Full Time

Description

? Review, analyze, and validate requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to ensure full test coverage.

? Partner with product owners and business analysts to define test strategies, test plans, and clear testing objectives.

? Document testing activities, including test logs, defect reports, and execution results.

? Create and maintain manual and/or automated test cases, test scripts, and automated test scenarios where applicable.

? Drive and manage defect tracking, triage, and report through the full lifecycle

? Collaborate closely with product owners, developers, business analysts, and Scrum teams within Agile/Sprint frameworks.

? Support troubleshooting activities by reproducing issues, reviewing logs, and validating fixes.

? Perform post-release and post-implementation testing, ensuring stability and readiness.

? Provide leadership and mentorship on testing best practices, tools, and processes.

Skills Required:

? Strong background in functional, integration, SOA/WS, DW/ETL, and Java backend testing.

? Hands-on experience with Agile (Scrum/sprint) and Waterfall delivery methodologies.

? Proficiency with QA tools including JIRA, HP ALM, Rally, or similar platforms.

? Strong working knowledge of SQL (Oracle) and Unix/Windows environments.

? Experience with test automation, ATDD/BDD frameworks, and writing Gherkin scenarios.

? Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

? Demonstrated ability to lead testing efforts for complex projects.

? Experience working as a tester/QA analyst on cloud-based platforms.

? Familiarity with Anaplan (model building, test scenarios, data validation, or connected planning workflows).

? Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and modern QA tooling.

? Exposure to API testing frameworks and automation tools

Education/Experience:

? Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.

? Postgraduate degree preferred.

? 10+ years of relevant QA/testing experience.
