Job description
We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Victor. This role will be based in Bethesda, Maryland. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Victor Insurance Managers Inc., a subsidiary of Marsh, is the world’s oldest and largest underwriting manager of specialty insurance, professional liability, and risk management programs. Victor is seeking a professional to join its growing Real Estate E&O team, where the ideal candidate is self-motivated, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and values strong relationships with colleagues and clients. This established team of eight colleagues underwrites and services a high-volume portfolio for the real estate industry, including agents, brokers, property managers, commercial firms, appraisers, title agents, and more.
We will count on you to:
- Profitably manage an existing portfolio of renewal business and underwrite new opportunities daily.
- Evaluate client’s exposure to loss based on established program eligibility.
- Utilize underwriting platform to generate pricing and communicate terms to Victor brokers.
- Negotiate final terms and position the Victor value proposition to brokers.
- Engage with our carrier partner to develop bespoke coverages and determine pricing for complex risks.
- Work with both in-house and outsourced support teams to service portfolio.
- On a limited basis attend industry trade shows and/or travel to meet with broker partners (2-3 trips annually)
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of underwriting experience or transferable work experience.
- Strong analytical aptitude and critical thinking demonstrated through work assignments.
- P&C license required, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $65,300 to $139,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
