Job Description
We are currently looking for an Entry-Level Java Developer for a 100% remote position on a large federal government project. This role offers an excellent opportunity for early-career developers to gain hands-on experience in full-stack application development while working alongside experienced engineers, architects, and Agile teams. The selected candidate will contribute to building modern, scalable applications that support client modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and implementation of full-stack applications under the guidance of senior developers.
- Contribute to building high-quality software solutions that deliver value, usability, and reliability for clients.
- Collaborate with development teams, architects, and Agile coaches to support modernization and transformation initiatives.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Assist with troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving technical issues.
- Engage in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
- Work on client-facing projects involving IT modernization, cloud adoption, and digital transformation.
- Contribute to team objectives and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of fundamental computer science concepts.
- Experience with at least one programming language such as Java, C#/.NET, Python, JavaScript, or PHP.
- Basic knowledge of full-stack development concepts and modern web technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop efficient solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment across all levels of an organization.
Additional Qualifications:
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Experience with Node.js or JavaScript MVC frameworks (e.g., AngularJS, Backbone).
- Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
- Interest in cloud technologies and modern software development practices.
