High School Mathematics Teacher

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site High School Mathematics Teacher role based in Arlington, VA. The teacher will plan, deliver, and assess engaging high school mathematics lessons, with a focus on subjects such as Algebra and related courses aligned with the school’s curriculum and standards. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, delivering instruction, assigning and grading classwork and assessments, and providing timely feedback to students and families. The teacher will maintain accurate records of student progress, manage classroom routines, and use a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learning needs. Additional responsibilities include participating in faculty meetings, collaborating with colleagues on curriculum and school initiatives, providing extra help or tutoring as needed, and supporting school events or activities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong subject-matter proficiency in Mathematics, including Algebra and other high school-level math courses.
• Demonstrated skill in Lesson Planning, curriculum implementation, and designing age-appropriate learning activities.
• Effective Communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues in a clear and professional manner.
• Experience teaching or working with Middle School or High School students, with the ability to manage a positive, structured classroom environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Math Education, or a related field; advanced degree or teaching certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with formative and summative assessment practices and the use of data to support student learning.
• Comfort with educational technology, including learning management systems and digital tools that enhance instruction.
• Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment and a commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
