Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients with precision and care, ensuring accurate laboratory testing and patient comfort. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic medical environment, providing essential patient care and supporting diagnostic processes. Prior experience in hospital or laboratory settings is highly valued, along with strong knowledge of medical terminology and patient interaction skills. Ability to assist with basic administrative duties as needed.

Experience with Accuro EMR is preferred ( training can be provided ). Applicant should be qualified to administer intramuscular injections when required.

Responsibilities

  • Collect blood samples from patients using proper phlebotomy techniques while maintaining patient comfort and safety
  • Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of specimens to prevent errors
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper handling and transportation
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of equipment and work area according to safety protocols
  • Assist with patient registration and provide excellent patient care, addressing questions or concerns empathetically
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines, including infection control procedures
  • Document procedures accurately in electronic health records and communicate effectively with healthcare team members
  • Provide administrative support ( when needed )
  • Administer intramuscular injections

Experience

  • Previous hospital or laboratory experience is preferred, demonstrating familiarity with clinical procedures
  • Strong background in patient care, with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, including venipuncture and capillary blood collection
  • Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to laboratory testing and patient interactions
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Experience with Accuro EMR is preferred
  • Professional, dependable and detailed-oriented

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
