Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Preclinical Research Scientist (In Vivo – Mouse/Rat Studies) with hands-on experience in mouse and rat (in vivo) studies to support drug discovery and development programs. The role involves designing, planning, executing and analyzing animal experiments in compliance with ethical and regulatory standards. The scientist will work closely with cross-functional research teams to generate high-quality, reliable data that informs decision-making prior to clinical trials.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, plan, and execute in vivo experiments using mouse and rat models
• Lead preclinical projects from concept through data interpretation and reporting.
• Perform animal handling procedures including: o Dosing (oral, IP, IV, SC) o Blood/tissue collection, Necropsy and organ harvesting
• Maintain accurate experimental records, lab notebooks, and study reports
• Analyze and interpret experimental data and prepare summaries for internal teams
• Ensure compliance with IAEC / CPCSEA / IACUC guidelines and animal welfare regulations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (biology, pharmacology, toxicology)
• Support model development and validation for disease studies
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure SOP adherence
• Assist in protocol writing, study reports, and regulatory documentation
• Strong leadership, decision-making capabilities Manage timelines, resources, and budgets for assigned projects.

Required Qualifications:

• PhD. in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Biochemistry or related field.
• Hands-on experience in preclinical / in vivo mouse and rat studies within preclinical research
• Strong knowledge of animal handling, dosing techniques, and sample collection
• Working knowledge of animal ethics and regulatory guidelines (IAEC / CPCSEA / IACUC)
• Experience working in CRO / pharmaceutical / biotech environment ( preferable )

Required skills

• Strong command over in vivo mouse and rat handling
• Proficiency in dosing techniques (oral gavage, IP, IV, SC, IM)
• Experience in blood sampling, tissue collection, and necropsy
• Ability to design and execute preclinical animal studies
• Knowledge of disease models (oncology, metabolic, CNS, inflammation, etc.)
• Understanding of animal ethics and regulatory compliance (IAEC / CPCSEA / IACUC)
• Familiarity with SOPs, GLP principles, and laboratory safety
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
• Accurate data recording, analysis, and interpretation
