Role Overview
We're looking for a Manufacturing Systems Analyst who can bridge the gap between business and technology. You'll manage our production planning system—optimizing data accuracy, improving scheduling workflows, and driving continuous improvement. This role requires someone who can translate operational needs into system requirements, troubleshoot complex problems, and serve as the go-to expert for our production teams.
What You'll Do
- Manage the production planning system (PlantStar or similar MRP platform), ensuring data integrity and supporting schedulers and planners on daily operations
- Analyze production data, schedules, and system performance to identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports (SQL, Excel, Power BI) to support decision-making across manufacturing, planning, and management
- Troubleshoot MRP-related issues and collaborate with IT on system enhancements, testing, and upgrades
- Document processes, drive process improvements, and act as a change agent to optimize workflows and system usage
- Train and support schedulers and planners on system best practices
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality) to align system strategy with business goals
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Information Systems, or related field)
- 3+ years in manufacturing systems, production planning, or analyst role
- Strong experience with MRP/ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience with production scheduling and process optimization
- Data analysis and troubleshooting expertise; ability to write SQL queries against PostgreSQL or similar databases
- Strong reporting and dashboarding skills (Excel, SQL, Power BI, or similar tools)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Project management and process documentation experience
Nice to Have
- Experience with PlantStar, IQMS, or similar manufacturing planning software
- Knowledge of injection molding processes (we'll teach this if you're strong on MRP and scheduling)
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement (Six Sigma) background
- Training and mentoring abilities
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary with performance-based bonus potential
- 4 weeks of PTO, plus holidays and employee recognition programs
- Health, dental, and vision plans
- 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match
- Collaborative, team-based culture that fuels innovation
- Community engagement and STEM outreach opportunities
