Job Description

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Computer science. Computer technology/computer systems technology. Computer installation and repair technology/technician. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Computer hardware or software retailer/wholesaler. Relocation costs not covered by employer. Help desk. Private company, corporation or industry. Tasks: Respond to users experiencing difficulties with computer. Supervise other technical support workers in this group. Provide business systems, network and Internet support to users in response to identified difficulties. Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software. Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment. Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations. Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet. Troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade web server hardware and software. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Computer and technology knowledge: Android. iOS. MAC. Device drivers. Networking software. Networking hardware. Servers. Desktop applications. File management software. Security software. MS Active Directory. MS Windows. TCP/IP. Wireless networks. Area of specialization: E-commerce. Security and safety: Bondable. Criminal record check.
