Unity Health Toronto (UHT) is a surgical practice leader, providing high quality surgical care to meet the needs of its diverse patient population. The Surgical Program at St. Joseph’s Health Centre includes preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care, managing the patient pathway from admission through anesthesia, surgery and recovery.
The Clinical Business Manager, Perioperative Supply Chain serves as the bridge between the Surgical Program and Unity Health Toronto Supply Chain. The incumbent is a surgical care operations subject matter expert working closely with clinical management, physicians, other clinical colleagues, the sourcing team, and the materials management team to ensure effective day-to-day supplies and equipment management across the Surgical Program.
Moreover, the incumbent plays a critical role supporting quality patient care in the Surgical Program and ensuring value for funds spent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demand planning and inventory management
- Ensuring a timely flow of clinical supplies while also managing on-hand inventory in a fiscally prudent manner.
- Managing capital and minor equipment purchases.
- Staying abreast of new technologies while providing oversight of current Surgical Program equipment availability and maintenance.
- Quality improvement and transformational activities, including the promotion of materials management best practices and development of associated protocols.
Qualifications
- Completion of an undergraduate degree or diploma in Nursing, Healthcare, Business, or a related field
- Current registration and in good standing with a regulated health professional body (i.e. CNO, MRTO)
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a health care role highly preferred
- Sound knowledge of surgical care administrative operations preferred
- Experience in demand planning, inventory management, materials coordination, and equipment coordination preferred
- Experience working with healthcare software applications preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with diverse groups of people (e.g. physicians, other clinical colleagues, patients and families)
- Exceptional attention to detail
