Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Clinician to join our team at the Department of Corrections. The clinician will provide direct mental health assessments, therapy, crisis intervention, and case management to incarcerated individuals, ensuring access to quality behavioral health care in a secure facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and evaluations.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
• Deliver crisis intervention and suicide prevention services as needed.
• Document all clinical encounters in accordance with Unity Health Care and DOC standards.
• Coordinate continuity of care upon release or transfer of patients.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field (required).
• Licensed or license-eligible in the District of Columbia (LICSW, LPC, or equivalent).
• Experience providing mental health services in correctional or community-based settings preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and cultural competence.
• Ability to work effectively within a secure facility environment.
