Summary

We are seeking an IBM APIC / DataPower Build & Release Engineer to take ownership of build packaging, deployment preparation, and release execution. You will decouple routine deployment tasks from development squads, streamlining production release windows and reducing deployment risk. This is a consulting job and the client is one of the major banks.

Work Model: Hybrid – 2 days onsite in Toronto

Key Responsibilities

Release Preparation: Assemble and validate APIC/DataPower release packages, ensuring configurations and API definitions are production-ready.
Deployment Execution: Run deployment pipelines across environments, actively supporting scheduled late-night and weekend production windows.
Environment Promotion: Manage gateway artifact migration across multi-zone environments (DEV, SIT, UAT, Prod) while tracking configuration drift.
Process Standardization: Partner with automation engineers to transition manual deployment tasks into repeatable CI/CD patterns.

Requirements

Must-Have Platforms: Proven, hands-on enterprise experience with IBM API Connect (APIC) or IBM DataPower.
Experience: 3+ years in release engineering, build coordination, or deployment support.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Git (branching, tagging) and structured configuration files (YAML, JSON, XML, OpenAPI/Swagger).
