Role Overview:

As a Senior Accountant in the Global Accounting Team at our company, you will be a crucial part of our daily accounting operations and month-end close processes. You will have the chance to engage in cross-functional projects, process improvements, and gain expertise in our financial accounting policies, processes, and systems. Additionally, you will act as a valuable business partner, collaborating with various teams across the globe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the balance sheet and income statement for a group of legal entities, which includes preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close activities, financial statements, and reporting packages.
  • Analyze monthly financial results for accuracy and reasonableness through variances analysis and investigation of discrepancies at the general ledger account level and financial statement line items level across different legal entities, regions, and business units.
  • Supervise the Global Business Service (GBS) team, provide training, conduct detailed reviews to ensure work quality, and drive continuous improvement in the operational processes of the GBS team.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional business partners to ensure proper accounting for business activities, identify process improvement and automation opportunities, and establish effective end-to-end processes.
  • Lead and execute internal controls activities, as well as maintain internal control documentation. Continuously enhance existing processes and internal controls, support external audit activities, internal audits, and assist in completing special ad hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

  • Master's degree in commerce, Accounting, or Finance. CPA/CA Certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience in Big 4 public accounting assurance/audit/consulting at a manager level, or as a Senior Accountant/Manager within a high-volume corporate environment similar to Uber.
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in a public accounting firm's assurance/audit/consulting service or as a Senior Accountant in a multinational corporation.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, coupled with sound business judgment. Ability to work well in a team, self-start projects, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal abilities, and a positive attitude.
  • Experience in supervising and reviewing the work of others, including outsourced service providers.
  • Thorough understanding of US GAAP and public company audit requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including skills in V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, etc. Role Overview:
