Job Summary Our research lab focuses on innovative interpersonal mindfulness research and the application of mindfulness in pregnant and postpartum families and in other clinical settings. The clinical research lab is part of the BC Reproductive Mental Health Program at BC Children’s and Women’s Hospital campus. Research team members work closely with mindfulness teachers, psychiatrists and other hospital staff and collaborate internationally with other research labs. Some of the ongoing and future research projects are related to mindfulness and outcomes in: parents; early childhood; relationship dynamics; dance and movement-based mindfulness; and digital health. http://www.bcwomens.ca/ Organizational Status The work will support the advancement of the research agenda of the BC Reproductive Mental Health program at BC Women’s Hospital. The position will be in-person (based at BC Children and Women’s Hospital campus). Office space is shared with other research team members at BC Women’s Hospital. Work Performed - Manages and coordinates daily operations in the lab and oversees the progress of projects and deadlines. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating lab studies which includes coordinating RAs to draft surveys on RedCAP, coordinating recruitment of participants, and coordinating scheduling of study to meet timelines. - Designs complex experiments in efforts to research the impact of mindfulness interventions in perinatal mental health. - Conducts complex analysis on study data using SPSS and interprets study data. - Develops and writes novel protocols and lab procedures, makes recommendations to the PI on how procedures in the lab could improve - Independently writes reports on lab activities to share with colleagues and PI. Assists the PI in writing ethics and grant applications. - Trains, schedules, and provides input on performance of Junior Research Assistants. Consequence of Error/Judgement Exercises a considerable amount of judgment, responsibility, and initiative in determining work procedures and methods, and coordinating the work of the unit. Supervision Received Works under minimum supervision, receiving specific instructions only on unusual problems or on matters which depart significantly from established policy and procedure. Supervision Given Has supervisory responsibilities for a small group of employees at lower classifications and may have input into staff selection and performance evaluation. Minimum Qualifications Completion of a university degree in a relevant discipline or technical program and a minimum four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
