We’re partnering with a Series A HealthTech in NYC. The team is highly technical, product-driven, and focused on shipping real systems that improve how care is delivered. They’re now investing heavily in their backend platform as the product and user base continue to grow.

About the Role

This is a Staff-level backend engineering role focused on building and shaping core backend systems.

You’ll work closely with engineering leadership to design scalable services, improve platform architecture, and help guide technical decisions across the backend stack.

This is not a ticket-taking role. The ideal candidate enjoys operating with autonomy, shaping systems from the ground up, and solving complex product and infrastructure problems.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build scalable backend services and APIs
• Lead architectural decisions across the backend platform
• Work closely with product and engineering leadership to shape system design
• Improve reliability, performance, and scalability of core services
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the team

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years strong backend engineering experience with Ruby on Rails
• Experience designing and operating production systems at scale
• Proven ability to own and ship complex backend features end-to-end
• Strong computer science fundamentals and system design skills
• Startup experience or comfort operating in fast-moving environments
• Product mindset and ability to work closely with cross-functional teams
