Job Description
Leading the development of new features - from prototyping to UX to the backend logic, writing unit and integration tests, and writing documentation. Remote, Canada Transify is a Toronto-based startup that's working on a data platform for transit agencies. Our data platform visualizes the data generated by GPS and passenger counter devices onboard buses to help transit planning and operations staff optimize bus service.
Our stack consists of React in the frontend and Python, Django, and Pandas in the backend. We conduct code reviews and strive to write code that is maintainable and extensible. The successful candidate will work on developing new features in the frontend and backend applications.
This includes leading the development of features - from prototyping to UX to the backend logic, writing unit and integration tests, and writing documentation.
Requirements
- Prior work experience developing software, preferably in React and Python
- Familiar with basic CS concepts
- Ability to write concise and maintainable unit/integration tests
- Most of all, interested in helping improve public transit Fully Remote role. Occasional travel may be required to/from Toronto, GO/TTC fare reimbursement provided. Rate of pay is $40-$60/hr on a 37.5-hour work week and equity, varying based on experience. Work hours are flexible. No on-call/pagerduty work outside of weekday business hours. Position is for an 8-Month Contract. Position is fully remote. Co-working space at the Accelerator Centre is optionally available if based in Waterloo.
