About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with a strong backend focus who thrives in

a fast-moving product environment.

This role is fully in-office, five days per week, at our Toronto headquarters located at 160

Front Street W. We believe working closely together accelerates problem solving, product

iteration, and engineering excellence.You will design and build the backend systems that power our AI-driven verification platform while collaborating closely with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver complete product experiences.

This role combines:

• Distributed backend systems
• TypeScript-based backend services and APIs
• AI integrations and LLM infrastructure
• Modern cloud databases and serverless functions
• Mobile and frontend collaboration

You will take ownership of critical systems end-to-end — from architectural design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration. We value engineers who are product-minded, pragmatic, and comfortable turning ambiguous ideas into reliable systems.

What You’ll Do

Backend Systems

Design and build scalable backend services using TypeScript and modern cloud

infrastructure.

Develop secure, well-structured REST APIs used by enterprise customers, internal services,

and mobile applications.

Build and maintain Supabase Edge Functions (TypeScript / Deno runtime) with strong

production reliability including retries, timeouts, idempotency, logging, and monitoring.

Design and evolve Postgres schemas, SQL migrations, and data models optimized for

performance and security.

Implement authentication and authorization systems using Supabase Auth and Postgres

Row Level Security (RLS).

AI Infrastructure

Integrate and operate production AI systems using providers such as:

• OpenAI
• Anthropic Claude
• Google Gemini

Build backend services that support:

• multi-provider routing and failover
• structured outputs and tool calling
• streaming responses
• cost and latency optimization
• caching and rate limiting

Full Stack Collaboration

Collaborate closely with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver reliable product experiences across platforms.Design clean, stable TypeScript-based API contracts optimized for web and mobile clients. Work closely with iOS engineers to support backend requirements for mobile features. Occasionally contribute to frontend or integration work when needed.

Technical Leadership

Lead technically complex features from design through production.

Mentor engineers through architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical guidance.

Improve system reliability, developer productivity, and observability.

Help define long-term architectural decisions as the platform scales.
