Reporter

Role Description The Reporter is a full-time, on-site role based at Marwadi University in Rajkot. This role involves researching and covering campus news, events, academic developments, and student activities for university publications and digital platforms. The Reporter will conduct interviews with students, faculty, and stakeholders; verify facts; and produce timely, accurate, and engaging news stories. Day-to-day responsibilities include attending events, gathering multimedia content, collaborating with editors and communications staff, and ensuring alignment with the university’s communication standards and ethical guidelines. The role may also involve contributing to social media updates, newsletters, and special features that highlight achievements and campus initiatives.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Reporting and News Writing skills, with the ability to gather information and produce clear, balanced stories.
• Candidates should possess excellent Communication and Writing skills for interviews, narrative storytelling, and audience-focused content.
• Candidates should possess basic Multimedia skills, including handling photos, videos, or audio for digital and social media platforms.
• Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, Media Studies, or a related field are preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, ethical judgment, time management, and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced campus environment are beneficial.
• Prior experience in reporting, campus journalism, or media internships, along with familiarity with digital publishing tools, will be an advantage.
