Police Clerk

The Cottage City Police Department is currently seeking dedicated, detail-oriented, and community-minded individuals to join our team as a full-time Police Clerk. As the administrative backbone of our department, the Police Clerk plays a vital role in supporting law enforcement operations, managing critical records, and serving as a welcoming first point of contact for members of our community. Salary Range: $22.00 – $25.00 / hour (Based on experience)

An applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, must be at least 21 years old, have a high school diploma or a GED equivalent and possess or be able to acquire a valid driver’s license.

Previous experience in an office administrative role, customer service, or records management is preferred. (Prior experience in a law enforcement or municipal environment is highly preferred but not required). Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a strong ability to learn specialized law enforcement databases. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of discretion and the ability to handle sensitive, confidential information appropriately. Strong organizational skills and sharp attention to detail.

Must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting.
