Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Inspector is responsible for inspecting products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure they meet quality standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements. This role performs dimensional and electrical inspections of sub-assemblies and final assemblies, verifies compliance with manufacturing documentation, and identifies nonconforming products. The Manufacturing Inspector works closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to maintain product quality and support continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process and final inspections of manufactured products, sub-assemblies, and finished assemblies.
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Perform electrical inspections and functional checks in accordance with specifications and test procedures.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, manufacturing prints, wiring diagrams, wire lists, and work instructions to verify product compliance.
  • Determine product acceptance or rejection based on established quality standards and specifications.
  • Document inspection results, record nonconforming conditions, and complete required quality documentation.
  • Identify, report, and assist in investigating quality issues and nonconforming materials.
  • Verify that manufacturing processes and products comply with company procedures and customer requirements.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality concerns and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure measuring and test equipment is properly maintained and calibrated before use.
  • Follow all company safety policies, quality procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing or quality inspection preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of dimensional inspection techniques and the use of precision measuring instruments.
  • Basic understanding of electrical inspection and testing methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
